AAPSU advices political parties to desist from mixing religion & politics

ITANAGAR, Feb 15: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has criticized the All India Congress Committee and Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju for indulging in verbal duel over conversion and Hindu population issue by embroiling the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
In a release, the apex student union in clear terms said that Arunachal is a hundred percent indigenous tribal dominated state and mudslinging each other for petty political gain at the expense of the state’s name should be stopped from here on out.
“The political parties should desist from mixing religion and politics more so when it concerns the sentiments of indigenous people,” the AAPSU warned.
While reiterating its earlier demand for posting of a regular Governor, the Union urged both state and union governments to look into the matter seriously without further delay and stop the practice of appointing caretaker Governor as early as possible.
Further, the AAPSU also appealed to the state government and Education Department to immediately release the stipends/scholarships of the students who are entitled to them, without any hiccups so that the restlessness among the students community due to delay in releasing stipends/scholarship is put to an end.
“The issue of stipend/scholarship has been already included in AAPSUs charter of demands that was submitted to the Chief Minister last month. The AAPSU won’t remain silent on any errands on part of the Education Department in respect to the interest of the student’s community”, the Union added.
