Aggressive China emerging

The tension between China and US is rising over Taiwan. Ever since President elect Donald Trump spoke directly with Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen the tension has been rising. The move breached the diplomatic “one-nation” protocol that recognises there is only one state called China, which incorporates Taiwan. China has reacted strongly and has been flexing military muscle. The Chinese is sending message to US in the form of a naval force demonstration, as a group of Chinese warships that included the country’s only aircraft carrier, made their way to the South China Sea after passing south of Taiwan in a “routine” exercise.
China also claims most of the South China Sea through which about $5 trillion (£4.07 trillion) in shipping trade passes every year. Neighbours Brunei, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam also have claims. The dragon has serious dispute with other neighbours like India and Japan over land and water territories. Recently when India tested an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of hitting target deep inside China, they reacted negatively. Amassed with massive wealth owing to its strong economy, China has been massively upgrading its military. They are flexing both military and financial muscle. India should be deeply alarmed by the confrontational stand adopted by China. The neighbouring country claims large part of Arunachal Pradesh state and has been refusing to recognize present international boundary. India will have to tactfully deal the new emerging power centre of Asia. Aligning with US and Japan is an option but it can further deteriorate the relation. With Donald Trump readying to take over as US President next month, the world might witness more aggressive China in days to come.
