Confused regarding selection method

Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily, I would like to put my view regarding the result of written exam of PGT and TGT Ref. Advertisement vide NoED.2/DSE/290/APT/2015 dated 10th Sept’2015 of Department of Education, Arunachal Pradesh.
Many candidates who have qualified as well as who didn’t make it to the viva-voice are confused regarding the selection as per 1:3 ratio. As per the result notice dated 23rd Dec’ 2016, it is clear that 3 candidates for 1 post is not followed. It is seen that the selected number of candidates in some posts are less and some more.
For example the number of vacant post in TGT (Accountancy) as per advertisement is 05 but the selected number for viva-voice is 07 only where as it should be 15 against 05 posts & in PGT (English) the no. of post is 05 and the selected number is 28 where as it should be 15 too. And this case is in most of the posts. It has reduced the chances of many candidates to get selected, and selecting less/more candidates than that of the ratio is just not justified. The question here is what kind of ratio is applied here? I don’t think 1:3 ratio was followed. This is a kind of fraud selection method and playing with the recruitment terms and conditions. Or the concerned doesn’t know how to calculate ratio?
We all know that there was a lot of confusion in this recruitment and now when we thought that everything is clear, this negligence by the authority in selecting as per the said ratio is creating more confusion and the department seems unsuccessful in gaining the faith of the candidates as well as the citizens.
Annoyed and confused citizen

  1. yes d ratio dey maintain is very much confusing..if candidate are with equal marks den atleast dey shud followd
d procedure laid against such conditn like looking into age if nt den class xii n x percentage n if not den lastly lettrs of candidates name..

  2. They deserve yet another writ petition from aggrieved candidates becoz many of the qualified list are confidentially selected. This was the basic reason for delay in declaration of result from july -DEC, whereas it could be solved within a month or two. Best example of manipulation may be allowing officers kids n kin to rewrite their paper and self checking.

  3. Also i would like to add that in terms of TGT History, total no. Of candidates called for viva voice is 49 candidates, which is totally not divisible by 3.. so gross violation of 1:3 ratio.

  4. Its just my assumption: in terms of TGT accountancy it might be possible that rest candidate couldn’t have qualified requisite pass marks in each concerned paper or in over all total, there’s chance and possiblity, best known to dwpartment concerned. Again, in terms of PGT English it might be possible that vacancy might have rised from 5 to 9, but in this case by following recruitment norm of 1:3 ratio they should have called 27 candidates instead of 28. Even if the two candidate has scored equally, recruitment norms must be followed, either one of the two should be selected on the basis of age seniority or merit. Infact calling more than specified candidates for viva creates confusion and suspicions.

  5. Dept will never select right person, only appsc will do justice. Cm should immediately handover to all post of department to appsc so that merit get their due.
