DA warns people from swimming in Midpu

DOIMUKH May 18: In view of frequent drowning cases in Pare river stretch at Midpu, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Papum Pare has put up a warning signboard at the disaster prone area of the river.
Doimukh Zilla Parishad Member Tana Yayo said that till now 15 drowning cases have been reported from Pare River, while several others may have gone unreported.
She expressed her gratitude to the Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner for accomplishing her plea for putting up a warning signboard at the area and appealed to the youths to refrain from swimming at Midpu. (DIPRO)
