District Review Committee meeting held

YINGKIONG, Apr 20: The first meeting of District Review Committee on Prevention of use of Foreign Made Automatic Hand Sawing Machine in Upper Siang district was held on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police Amulya Bora, Divisional Forest Officer Anying Boli and the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) attended the meeting, which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Remo Kamki.
The Committee held elaborate discussions and made strategic action plan to prevent use of Automatic Hand Sawing Machine which will go a long way in preservation of forest in Upper Siang.
It was resolved in the meeting that ADC, Tuting will constitute a separate Task Force for the circle falling under Tuting Sub-division. Local representatives of the Forest Department like Beat Officer and Range Forest Officer will be included along with the OC PS, Tuting as members. The Task Force will be headed by respective administrative officers. ADC Mariyang and EAC, Geku will also form circle wise Task Force for Mariyang-Mopom and Geku-Katan circles respectively, involving representatives of the Forest Department and Police, while CO Jengging will constitute the Task Force for Jengging Circle on similar lines as the others.
The District Review Committee shall meet at least once in a fortnight to supervise, monitor and coordinate the functioning of the task forces of the district and submit an ATR in the monthly report. (DIPRO)
