ESDBA calls off boycott

PASIGHAT, Apr 20: The East Siang District Bar Association (ESDBA), which has been boycotting government cases for nearly two years, finally called off its stir from Tuesday last.
Informing about the decision, ESDBA President, Advocate Toning Pertin said that the pending bill has been assured to be cleared within a week by the Deputy Commissioner. “Accordingly, we have appealed to our penal of lawyers to take up government cases.”
Meanwhile, ESDBA expressed gratitude to DC Tamiyo Tatak and EAC (Judicial) Kamin Darang for their initiative to clear the long pending bills of the penal of lawyers.
It is worth mentioning here that due to non-clearance of professional/ appearance fees as Public Prosecutor, State Defence Counsel and Amicus-Curie in the Court of Additional District & Sessions Judge and the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Pasighat, the penal of lawyers under ESDBA went on for indefinite boycott of government cases from May 2, 2015.
