Kayakalp Award to Tawang District Hospital and Ruksin CHC

NEW DELHI, Feb 15: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has conferred the Kayakalp Award to District Hospital Tawang and Community Health Centre (FRU) Ruksin in a function held at Swarn Jayanti Auditorium, Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The award is a quality assurance programme where it looks into the quality standards of a hospital, right from upkeep of a hospital to quality services to hygiene, sterilization, bio-waste management, and outsourcing of other services not in the hospital.
The winners receive Rs 50 lakhs for district and general hospitals, while CHCs receive Rs 15 lakhs. This has been coined to make government hospitals at par with private hospitals in terms of services and quality assurance.
