Planning and finance department to merge

ITANAGAR, May 18: The state cabinet which met on Thursday took several major decisions. While sharing content of the cabinet meet in the micro-blogging site Twitter, Chief Minister Pema Khandu informed that the government has decided to amalgamate the planning and finance departments into an integrated department which will be headed by development commissioner. The state cabinet also decided to increase strength of Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service from present 422 to 484.
Three posts of secretary will be en-cadre into the APPSC. The Chief Minister also informed that divisional commissioners will start functioning from Namsai(East) and temporarily at Yupia(West) at the earliest. Each Divisional Commissioners will be delegated with administrative and financial powers, added the CM.
