Sensitization workshops on legal literacy and prevention of gender-based violence

DAPORIJO, Feb 16: A series of sensitization workshops on legal literacy and prevention of gender-based violence, followed by two-day long door-to-door campaign to create awareness on functions and services of Women Help Line (WHL) were organized by the Arunachal WHL, in collaboration with Cherom Chera Welfare Society at Daporijo in Upper Subansiri recently.
During the workshops, resource persons from Legal Aid Clinic, Oju Welfare Association and State Resource Centre spoke on different topics, such as Domestic Act 2005, Child Marriage, Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Protection and Redressal Act 2013, PNDT Act 1994 and Legal Service Authorities Act 1978 (free legal aid).
District Fishery Development Officer, Taye Cherom, Senior Veterinary Officer, Panam Haging Cherom and Daporijo APP WT Operator, Tapu Kaji also spoke on the occasion.
