‘Run for the Nation’ organized to mark Swamiji’s birth anniversary

    ITANAGAR, Sept 11: ‘Bharat Jago Daud’ (Run for the nation) was organized in various parts of the state today as part of Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary celebration as well as to commemorate the great speech delivered by Swami Vivekanand at Chikago on September 11.

    Over 500 youths of age group between 18 to 40 years participated in the mass run which started from Nyokum Lapang Ground at 7.30 am and culminated at Vivekananda Hall, R K Mission.

    Dignitaries like Higio Aruni, Chief Councilor of Itanagar Municipal, Tokong Pertin, Joint Secretary, SV-SSS Samaroh Samity & Secretary, Literary Society of Arunachal Pradesh, Tejum Padu, Sah Prant Pramukh VK Arunachal also ran along with youths from various colleges, NGOs, ITBP,CRPF, parent of VKVs, indigenous  prayer centres, officers from various department and councilors of various wards .

    Parliamentary Secretary J K Panggeng, who flagged off the run appealed to all the youths to follow the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and maintain the sprit of universal brotherhood and harmony among the all communities .

    Rinchen Dorjee, the Prant Sanyojak Ayojan Samiti of SV-SSS has motivated the youths to follow the golden rule of oneness, inter-connectedness and inter-dependentness left by Swami Vivekananda for the youths of world.

    At the culminating point all the runners were received with the slogan of “Bharat Mata Ki JAI” and “Vande Mataram” by the dignitaries and others present there.

    Tenzing Norbu Thongdok, Parliamentary Secretary and Principal Advisor to Chief Minister attending the function at Vivekananda Hall, RK Mission proclaimed that at the present context in the society all the youth need to follow the philosophies propounded by Swamiji at the Chicago Address in America. Dr Joram Begi, Director of Higher and Technical Education, Sunil Ambekar, All India Organizing Secretary of ABVP also addressed the meeting and highlighted the relevance of Swamai Vivekananda’s teachings and messages propagated by him.

    Nabum Atum, President SV-SSS Samaroh Samiti chaired the meeting while Bamin Hinda, Joint Secretary, SV-SSS Samaroh Samity gave the vote of thanks.

    At Namsai, a mini marathon race was organized to mark the occasion by Arun Jyoti Namsai Unit.

    ADC Namsai Neelima Kumari flagged off the race at 7.30 am which covered a distance of 2 km around the town ship.

    Hundreds of students from GHSS Namsai and public from all walks of life took part in the race.

    The mass run for the nation was also organized at Longding and Jairampur.

    At Longding, Phezon Wangsa, ZPC Longdkng district called upon the youth to inculcate in them the sense of brotherhood and maintain communal harmony and peaceful co-existence among all irrespective of religion, caste and community.

    Sanwang Wangsu, the convener of Swamiji Shradha Sati Jayanti Samiti appealed all to follow the worthy examples shown by Swamiji.

    N. Akhang, principal of higher secondary school flagged off the run.

    The program was organized under the guidance of M. Loham, BEO of Longding district, who is also the nagar sanchalak of VK Arun jyoti Longdkng.

    KHONSA: Along with the rest of the country ‘Run for the Nation’ was organized at Khonsa today as a part of the 150th birth anniversary of patriot Saint Swami Vivekananda in which people from all walks of life including hundreds of students from various schools actively participated.

    Tirap Deputy Commissioner Kamlesh Kumar Joshi flagged off the run from the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office  which culminated at Nehru stadium. The programme was jointly organized by the district administration and the Vivekananda Kendra Arunjyoti, Khonsa.

    Addressing the huge gathering the Deputy Commissioner threw light on the life and contribution of Swami Vivekananda and advised the students to read books on Swamiji to know and understand him more. He said that Swami Vivekananda worked tirelessly to instill a sense of confidence among the youth of India.

    Participating in the deliberation Denhang Bosai said that Swami Vivekananda was successful in awakening the people from their slough of despondency adding that Swamiji’s teachings were relevant even today and will remain relevant forever.

    Earlier, Ngasah Tangjang, DLEO explained the significance of the day and highlighted on life and preaching of the great son of India.

    AALO: Vivekananda Kendra, project Arun Jyoti, Aalo branch organized a marathon race titled ‘BHARAT JAGO DAUD’ to commemorate the Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary or Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shati Samaroh (SVSSS) at Aalo town today.

    About 150 participants took part in the race which comprised of students from various schools of West Siang district along with the Jawans from 19th Grenadiers Indian Army Bogdo and 20th Battalion ITBP, Aalo covering a distance of 5km within the town spreading the message of swami Vivekananda.

    Dr. Gerik Jini, M.O. District Hospital Aalo highlighted the main objectives of the race and relevance of life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda in the present day context on the occasion.

    Bamo Jini, convenor, SVSSS, west Siang District flagged off the race amid cheer in the morning.

    YINGKIONG: VKV school of Upper Siang district also celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at Yingkiong today.

    Students and teachers from various schools of Yingkiong Township, public took out a procession within Yingkiong to spread the message of Vivekananda.

    The procession was flagged off by the ZPM Kani Burang in presence of DDSE and other officers.

    TEZU: The SVSS committee members of VKV Tezu and VKV Tafragam also organized the ‘Bharat Jago Daud’, today on the eve of Universal Brotherhood Day at Jubilee Ground, today. On the occasion, Seju P Kuruvilla, SP Tezu briefed about the importance of youth power and urged the youths to take up the right path for the cause of themselves and the society.

    He flagged off the Bharat Jago Daud run in which public, youths and students of Indira Gandhi Government College, Government Higher Secondary School, Kendra Vidyalaya, and Secondary School of Tezu participated. DIPRO
